All, I have done tons of research on getting federal positions. One way is to take temp or summer higher jobs in your area so that you get to know some of the folks you might work for. Second, you have to tailor your resume to the job you want. Look in the job description and requirements and use as many of the key words you see as possible. Also, make srue that your resume is up to par to begin with. I first started looking when I decided to get out of the military at 11 years. My fisrt resume, with all the work that I did, STUNK. Then, I got in touch with someone who delt with resumes on a regular basis, found some good references and when I turned out my latest and greatest resume, I started getting good hits and have interviews comming soon. Finally, if you use sites like usajobs.com, clearancejobs.com, or civilianjobs.com (also Dice), make sure to frequently update your resumes online. The resumes are racked and stacked also by their age, so if you update frequently, it will hit the searches of the employer quicker. Just hang in there and keep up with it. It's hard to get a government job without knowing someone or being a disabled vet, but it is possible ( no offense to vets, I am one myself. It's just that 30% disability or higher puts you in a whole other league...).

I am recently moved to Chandler Az. Its growing over here do you think in the future there will be any openings here i have applied no response. I have a BA in business Management that hasn't helped me much. It could possibly be I don't have much work experience in my field so they toss my resume.
